YIWU & CHINA SOURCING
GIFT SOURCING / BRANDING & PRESENTATION
Source useful gifts from Yiwu and China, then define the logo, colour and packing that make the collection yours. Connect the product to the recipient, budget and arrival date.
Home / Gift Sourcing
START WITH THE PURPOSE
The occasion and recipient shape the product choice. These are product directions; availability and specifications are confirmed per inquiry.
CORPORATE & PROMOTIONAL
Drinkware, notebooks, bags and desk accessories for staff, clients, launches and campaigns.
SEASONAL & RETAIL
Decorative accessories, seasonal packing and coordinated products for holiday gifting or retail ranges.
PRIVATE-LABEL GIFTS
Existing product options developed into a defined version with considered colour, print and presentation.
APPROVE THE WHOLE VERSION
A suitable product can still be the wrong gift if the print, box or presentation differs from the brief. Confirm material, dimensions, logo method, position, colour reference, insert, accessories and retail packing before production.
CUSTOMISATION THAT FITS THE PRODUCT
Suppliers should confirm feasibility for the actual material, artwork, quantity and required finish.
01 / PRINT
Screen, pad or digital printing may suit compatible surfaces. Confirm print area, colour count and resistance to wear. Approve the proof and sample.
02 / ENGRAVE
Laser engraving can suit some metal and compatible surfaces. Check placement, contrast and finish on the actual item.
03 / PACK
Boxes, sleeves, labels and inserts should fit the product, protect it and present a complete set. Request a packing layout and fit sample.
04 / DEVELOP
A custom colour, component or mould can affect MOQ, setup charges and timing. Separate existing options from new development.
REVIEW THE FULL COST
Separate product and customisation charges so missing items do not appear after the order is approved.
Material, dimensions, finish, quantity per SKU and price breaks.
Application method, colour count, artwork setup and tooling if required.
Sample cost, delivery, revisions and the version being approved.
Box, insert, labels, component checking and who assembles the gift set.
Inspection scope, specialist work where needed and any reinspection.
Consolidation, delivery terms, freight scope and destination charges.
FOR CAMPAIGNS WITH A FIXED DATE
A factory completion date is not a destination delivery date. Allow for sample approvals, revisions, production, checks, transport and destination handling. For a mixed gift set, identify who receives, checks and assembles each component.
GIFT SOURCING QUESTIONS
Define a component list, quantities and who receives, checks and assembles each part. Quote those tasks explicitly and approve the final packed version.
MOQ varies by product and application method. A logo on an existing item, a custom colour and a new mould can each have a different minimum. Request workable options and setup costs.
Confirm the product specification, logo layout, colours, packing and accessories. Identify the sample or proof so suppliers know which version the order refers to.
No. Intended use, material and destination affect the applicable requirements. Specialist testing is a separate scope from a general visual inspection.
GIFT DIRECTIONS TO DISCUSS
01
Practical bags, drinkware, small organisers and selected everyday accessories. Share the event date, recipient profile and distribution format. A useful product, readable logo and manageable packing can be more effective than adding complexity to a modest budget.
02
A coordinated set for onboarding or internal programmes. Define the component list, brand palette and whether the pack needs a personalised insert. Review the assembled set and how it travels before approving the presentation.
03
Products selected for a selling season and a target shelf position. Agree assortment codes, quantities and packaging across the range. Work backward from arrival and leave an explicit decision window for sample revisions or a late component.
04
A smaller, considered collection built around the recipient and use. Compare product quality, presentation and the total delivered scope. A rigid box can change packed volume and handling; include those effects when comparing options.

CORPORATE GIFT PLANNING
Plan a staff-event gift set around the recipient, intended use, quantity and arrival date. Confirm the tumbler, notebook dimensions and tote construction before finalising the box size. Request a complete quotation covering decoration, insert, card, assembly and shipping cartons.
Approve the complete set with the tote folded as it will be packed. Check that the insert supports the tumbler and that printed surfaces do not rub. Keep the component list and artwork revision together, and agree the response to a shortage or delayed item before production.
BEFORE YOU CHOOSE A GIFT
The same artwork can guide a collection, but printing, engraving, embossing and textile decoration produce different effects. Review the suitable method, size and colour for each substrate and approve physical samples together.
Choose a presentation direction early, but confirm final box and insert dimensions with the actual products. A box selected from estimated sizes can fail when handles, lids, accessories or folded textiles are included.
State what the budget covers: products, decoration, packing, assembly, services and delivery assumptions. Quote those elements clearly before comparing routes. A product-only budget and a delivered-set budget describe different projects.
Provide the required arrival date and allow for samples, artwork, production, inspection, possible corrections and transport. Identify who can approve changes quickly. A promised factory-ready date is not a confirmed event-delivery commitment.
